BlacksnOw Unlock Ported To iPhone OS 4.0 For iPhone 3GS
The upcoming iPhone OS promises many new features to its users. Although primarily intended for the next generation iPhone, iPhone OS 4 will be compatible with older Apple devices as well. The OS will work with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and the second- and third-generation iPod Touch this summer, and with iPad in the fall. Some features will not be available on all devices. For example, multitasking is available only with iPhone 3GS and the third-generation iPod touch (32GB and 64GB models from late 2009).
Apple has released a developer beta for iPhone OS 4 for quite some time now. Because of this beta, many iPhone enthusiast developers were able to try out their hacks on the OS. Now, apparently, an breakthrough has been reached in iPhone hacking: blacksnOw is a popular unlocking tool for iPhone 3GS and it has now been ported to work with the latest iPhone OS 4 Beta 4; the port is based on binaries provided by msft.guy and the original blacksnOw unlock by Geohot.
If you are already using the iPhone OS 4 beta, you can give this blacksnOw port a try. But it is advisable to wait a little bit longer for Apple to launch the OS’s final version; that is when the official unlock by the iPhone Dev Team will be released. Their unlock procedure will be far more reliable.
