Unlock Tool for 05.12.01 Baseband on iPhone 3.1.3 Coming Soon
Updaters to iPhone OS 3.1.3 with 05.12.01 baseband, rejoice! An iPhone unlock for baseband 05.12.01 is on its way. MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team, while replying to a tweet has confirmed this. The unlock will be released once Apple announces its new iPhone along with the iPhone OS 4 at the WWDC 2010. The conversation between MuscleNerd and EmmanueGT is as follows:
@MuscleNerd will there be a unlock software coming out for the 3gs 3.1.3 baseband 05.12.01 when the new iPhone 4g comes out??
@EmmanueGT yep..so don’t sell or give away your 3GS (at same time, remember not to accept Apple FW upgrades in future)
It is also NOT recommended to upgrade your iPhone firmware to OS 4 since doing so will result in baseband upgrading to 05.13 which may be unlockable for sometime.
