Opera Mini Approved For iPhone
In today’s browser wars, any web browser that claims to be the fastest needs to support its claim with proof. The Opera browser’s recent desktop release claims to be the fastest web browser and surely, it delivers. It provides users with great page browsing speeds which I have not felt in other browsers.
Now the new Opera Mini for iPhone application is finally available, that will unleash Opera’s fast browsing potential onto iPhone users. Opera’s statement regarding this release has an extract that reads:
“Opera Mini, with more than 50 million users worldwide, enables fast mobile Web browsing by compressing data by up to 90 percent before sending content to the device, resulting in significantly improved page loading. Users of the app will notice an uptake in speed, especially on slower networks such as the 2G Edge network. Surfing the Web with the Opera Mini App on iPhone and iPod touch will also help users save money because of its data compression capabilities. This will hold especially true while the user is incurring roaming charges.”
Some great features of Opera Mini include:
- Speed Dial: it gets you to your favorite websites with a single tap
- An address field with auto-completion makes you type less
- Tabs allow for multitasking with several webpages
- Bookmarks can be easily managed and accessed
