How to Minimize Any Window to System Tray in Windows
For quite some time I have been looking for an application that minimizes Windows Media Player 11 to the System Tray. My system is running Windows Vista and the ability to minimize to tray is not available in all applications. I can either minimize Media Player as a window to the Taskbar or as a toolbar on the taskbar. Either way, space on the Taskbar is occupied whereas I want it to be free.
I finally discovered a piece of shareware that helped me minimize Windows Media Player to the System Tray. Not only that, but this application can minimize any program window to the System Tray of Windows.
The application is named Actual Window Minimizer.
Actual Window Minimizer adds another button to the top right of every window. When this button is clicked on, the window minimizes to its icon in the System Tray.

And here is how Firefox looks minimized to System Tray (icon on the far left).
Note that by default, minimizing to tray occurs only when the minimization button is clicked. If we want to modify the minimization options, we can access the program’s OPTIONS by right-clicking on its System Tray icon.
In the configuration window we can adjust the settings according to our preferences.
This program is compatible with all Windows operating systems (XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003 and 2008, 32bit and 64bit versions) and is only 3.52MB large. Currently Actual Window Minimizer is priced at about $20. That price might seem a bit high for a tiny program like that but there are discount offers available for people who buy multiple licenses.
