I recently watched a hilarious documentary-type movie, The Yes Men. Two men impersonating like WTO officials go from one part of the globe to another, parodying what they believe is the hypocrisy of WTO. In one of their appointments, they had to visit another country and deliver a lecture at a conference. They took extreme care in their preparation for the gag they planned to pull and had set up everything quite elaborately. The only thing they mistakenly overlooked was the time zone difference between their original country and their destination country; this little mistake caused them to be an hour late to the meeting.

They nevertheless were able to deliver the lecture, only after rushing their preparation in the end. What the Yes Men should have done was consulted the internet, checked out the time difference, and found out how long they had before the meeting began.

For people like the Yes Men, who travel from one country to the next on a frequent basis, knowing the time zone difference is essential. If you are such a person whose jobs takes him to different places of the world, the most time efficient way to calculate the time difference is by using TimeZoneCalculator.

This application is a compact and easy to use freeware program compatible with all Windows operating systems including Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, and NT. The download file is only 430KB in size and installs without any glitches.

Here is what the program looks like after installation:

It behaves as a time converter that comes in handy for monitoring and coordinating events in different time zones. All a user has to do is select a BASE LOCATION and time (in the left field), and then a REMOTE LOCATION (in the right field). The time along with the difference is shown in the area below the REMOTE LOCATION.

NOTE: All times fed and displayed into TImeZoneCalculator are of the 24hr format.

In conclusion, TimeZoneCalculator is a tiny application that serves its purpose perfectly. For frequent travelers, this freeware program is a must-have.
