Are a ‘gamer of the past’? Do you miss the old days of Sega Mega Drive, the simple Sega, or even the Atari game consoles? The games made for those consoles used to be simpler than the ones available today. But despite their simplicity, those games had countless gamers glued to their television screens, playing those games. Classics such as Asteroids or Sonic are simply not made anymore.
Today’s list is dedicated to all you reminiscing gamers who wish to relive their ancient console days. We have gathered three websites which allow you to play Atari and Sega games as Flash games within your internet browser. These websites are completely free to use and will not cost you anything; in a few simple clicks you will be able to relish the games you once were addicted to.

1. Game Oldies

According to the developers of Game Oldies, “a game is never better than its fundamental idea.” To a great extent, that statement is true. The praised games of the past lacked in the area of visual graphics but still were able to develop a huge fan base. Game Oldies lets us browse for those classic praised games genre-wise and console-wise. The best games are right there on the homepage and can be browsed through. Clicking on a game opens up the Flash window in which it starts. No payment or registration is required to play these Flash games on Game Oldies.

2. Atari Arcade

Video game arcades used to be packed with gamers with many of them lined up for their turns. If it is those Atari arcade games which you find missing, then head on over to Atari’s page titled “Arcade” and play any game from the ones available on the site. You can choose from Adventure™, Asteroids™, Asteroids™ Deluxe, Battlezone™, Crystal Castles™, Gravitar™, Lunar Lander™, and Yars’ Revenge™. Each of these games was a major success in its time; on the site, each game is accompanied by brief passages which outline the history and legacy of the game. Clicking on a game opens up its Flash version and lets the user play free of charge and registration.

3. PlaySEGA

The final entry in our list is PlaySEGA and has more games than Atari Arcade and Game Oldies combined. This website is semi-free. The best games can only be played if a user is a PlaySEGA VIP member. Needless to say, the VIP membership is the paid one. But do not let the VIP membership discourage you; there are still a large number of games which visitors can play for absolutely free after a quick registration process. If you like what PlaySEGA has to offer for free, give their VIP trial a go which is also free; perhaps you will find that for the number and quality of Sega games offered, the VIP account is completely worth it.

Wow, it’s pretty rare to see someone put things into perspective the way you just did. I wish that other bloggers and people that post content to the web would take a page from your book! Do you have any other sites that I could visit or could you possibly make a recommendation as to where I might be able to find some more information? Either way, thanks for an excellent resource and I look forward to being a repeat reader!
