With so many note-taking applications available right now, it is hard which one to choose from. The majority of these applications are freeware programs so one selects ‘freeware’ as a starting point. While that approach has its obvious benefit of not having to spend any money, the disadvantage is that better applications which are not free often get overlooked because nobody is willing to pay to use them (especially with freeware alternative which are seemingly their equivalent).

So far Simplenote might sound like Apple’s native Notes. But a great feature it adds is synching by working with its very own web application. This feature is different from Notes and other synching applications in the sense that it uses its very own web application rather than an external client like Google Documents. This speeds up synching greatly.
The disadvantage Simplenote had been facing so far was its price: initially at $3, the price had been brought down to $2. But the existence of a price still gave an edge to its major competitor which was free and Apple’s own – Notes.
That major obstacle is no longer in Simplenote’s way because now in partnership with the FUSION AD NETWORK, Simplenote has been made free to use.
