Create Your Own Icons With Iconizer
Stumble it!Just like we personalize our physical workspace or car to get a better feel and be more comfortable, we do the same with our computers. Desktop customization is a great way to personalize our computers. This customization is not restricted to our set wallpaper or the color theme of our system; customization also encompasses icon creation for individual files, folders, or shortcuts.
While it is possible to create our own icons in a program like Paint, great detailed shapes can be found only on the internet. Today we explore one of the many free website offering custom icons to computer users. The site is titled Iconizer. The interface of the website is fairly simple. The main page includes controls as shown in the image below:
Instructions provided on the site are thorough and leave no room for ambiguity:
- Choose the type of icon you want.
- Mark “Keep colors” if needed.
- Enter the background color code desired.
- Click “Transparent background” in case needed.
- Pick the foreground color code you want.
- Set the sizes of the icon, if needed.
- Press “Generate icon” and wait for your icon be generated.
We are provided with a good and wide range of icons from which we can choose a starting point. The following list of icons pops up when we click on the SELECT ICON area:
Once we have selected our icon, specified the color settings, and clicked GENERATE, we can proceed to download our result:
Our resultant file is in GIF format. According to the operating system we run, we can right-click on the file/folder/shortcut of which the icon we want changed, access its customization tab, and browse over to our downloaded icon in the icon options.
