Control Torrent Activity on Chrome with uTorrentForChrome
At times we leave our downloading to proceed when we leave home. Most of us use torrents to download very large files which might take days to download (in the case of games and BlueRay movies). If you are looking for a way to remotely monitor and control the activity of your uTorrent, then a nifty solution is the Chrome extension titled uTorrentForChrome.
The extension downloads in a jiffy and places its icon on Chrome’s address bar:
Before we proceed to set up the extension, we must first enable the WebUI option in uTorrent. To do this we go into Options->Preferences->WebUI. We check the first checkbox and select a username and password:

With the WebUI enabled, we can now right-click on the extension’s icon in the address bar of Chrome and access its options:

Clicking on OPTIONS takes us to a page where we configure our uTorrent extension:

There are four fields to fill in total. In SERVER, we enter our IP address. In PORT we enter the port uTorrent uses for listening. In LOGIN and PASSWORD we enter the username and password we just chose.
With the extension configured, we click on the extension’s icon and are now able to control uTorrent via our Chrome browser. Here is a sample screenshot of the extension in action:

You can see that Chrome’s activity can be monitored within Chrome and can even be controlled.
If you use uTorrent, you can enable WebUI on it and then use Chrome with this extension on another computer to control the downloads lined up in your uTorrent.
