I have always been a big fan of all the portable applications that I can carry anywhere I want and make full use of them. Till now I only downloaded these utilities from the internet but I’ve just discovered that you can now create your own portable application for any windows application using PackageFactory for U3.

To create a portable version of your favorite Windows application simply drag and drop the EXE file you want to install onto your U3 drive along with any required DLLs. Once done click “Create” to generate U3P file that you can install onto any U3 drive. Note that any complex programs that rely on the Registry or installed components may not work.

PackageFactory for U3 is an excellent free tool for non-commercial use that allows you to turn just about any Windows application in to a portable version which you can use on your flash drive or similar device.
