Microsoft All Set to Launch Zune HD
It seems like Microsoft is all set to launch their iPod Touch rival known as “Zune HD” which seems to be positioning itself directly against Apple’s product line.
Micrsoft Zune Music Player was earlier launched at the end of year 2006 as a competitor to the iPod but really didn’t make it. It wasn’t impressive enough to be compared with the iPod and fell well behind in marketshare while Apple revealed that they have sold over 12 million iPods up until December 2008.

The new Zune HD however is a device which we are expecting to be something that might go head to head against Apple’s iPod Touch. It’s still unclear if Microsoft’s “Zune HD” would do anything more than playback movies and TV shows.
Engadget also posted that they don’t have any word on specs right now, though they’ve got a sneaking suspicion this will have an HD display. I doubt the HD title actually refers to 720p because there are lots of devices with the HD tagline that don’t actually have HD screens. Its more of a marketing thing, since I bet it has a fairly high resolution screen, just not 720p.
