Google AJAX APIs PlayGround Version 2 Released

Google has just rolled out the second version of the AJAX APIs Playground. AJAX APIs Playground is a useful collection of executable and editable example code for all of Google’s JavaScript APIs, including Google Maps and the increasingly interesting Visualization API.

Beside introducing new features they have also changed the user interface which is far more better than the previous one. The new features are:

Break points (simulated in Javascript)
Firebug Lite in output for debugging
Line numbers in code editor
Ability to edit HTML of samples

Google Developer Programs, Ben Lisbakken said that the most useful and his favorite features are “Break Points” and “Firebug Lite”. Firebug runs in an iFrame when the code runs on the Playground. Since it is a cross-domain iFrame, there’s no simple way to add Firebug to the iFrame’s window object, so adding Firebug Lite was the best approach. This allows you to use your favorite Firebug debugging convenience functions in the PlayGround.
