Windows Live Messenger for Kids
Microsoft Germany has teamed up with German youth protection organization to launch a verison of its Windows Live Messenger which is specially designed for kids between 8 and 12 years old. Unlike other messengers registration process, it needs to be approved by parents.

According to Microsoft this should have them control their kid’s profile and contact list. The messenger for kids has limited data volume, which limits the possibility to upload photos and other more personal details.
