Free Mac Software to Create Media Designs
Stumble it!QLab is a award winning freeware for Mac that allows users to create their media designs for theater, dance, composition, installation and more. What’s great about this application is that it offers play back audio, video and MIDI from a single workspace.
It’s fast and flexible audio feature allows you to mix and route multi channel audio files while the Video Cue can play back movies and still images, either full screen or with customizable geometry. Easily adjust the rotation, scale, translation, and aspect ratio of each video.
Please note that the basic version of Qlab is available free of charge and it provides a powerful audio playback environment. If it isn’t enough for you and you would like to unlock all the additional features, Licenses are available as well.
Qlab has recently been upgraded to version 2.0.1 with the following new improvements and new features
- FIXED: The video stage is no longer erroneously hidden if a non-running Video or Camera Cue is stopped.
- FIXED: Arming/disarming a Group Cue now applies the change to all the children.
- FIXED: Loading a Start Cue now also loads its target.
- FIXED: Group Cues that “Start All Children Simultaneously” can now be loaded to a time and they’ll load all their children to that time.
- FIXED: Fixed a problem where a Video Cue that was on deck for some time would not start smoothly when fired.
- FIXED: Videos and Cameras that are not rendering with a negative scale value will now be rendered through a simpler pipeline. This should moderately improve playback performance.
- FIXED: Improved the way the Video Stage GUI is redrawn to reduce load when switching between cues.
- FIXED: The Devamp Cue now disables the “stop target when loop ends” button if the “fire next cue when loop ends” option is not activated.
- ADDED: Workspace preferences menu item under the Application preferences menu item. (To help clarify that they are different things.)
- ADDED: Clarifying text in the Licenses and Authorizations window.
- ADDED: Credits and licensing terms for the SSCrypto framework.
