I’ve been using Windows Vista for about 10 months now and I have finally started to learn new things about it. I recently figured out how I can shut down my PC automatically or plan a whole schedule for it without needing any third party software. I earlier explained how you can shut down your pc when you’re using Xp as well. Anyways follow these simple steps and get the job done in hardly 2-3 minutes

1. Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System tools and click Scheduler. Once done the window below will open

2. Now click Create Basic Task on the right side of the Task Scheduler under “Actions“

3. Choose a name for this action and give any description you like

4. You can choose the rest of the details from the available options which are Daily, Weekly, Monthly, One time, When the computer starts, When I log in and When a specific event is logged. Click next

5. Choose the time when you need to shut down your PC. Click next

6. Choose “Start a program” and click next

7. Now type “shutdown” under Program/script and type “-s-f-t 0” in Add argument

8. Lastly, click Finish on the next screen to save this scheduled task.

Easy right?
