First ever USB PC Monitor introduced by Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi released their new USB PC Monitor that comes with a built-in ethernet connection and USB hub. At this moment the monitor is only available in Japan.
DisplayLink president and CEO Hamid Farzaneh said

Mitsubishi claims that it’s LCD can deliver a better energy consumption level, when compared with traditional LCD monitors currently available on the market. Not just that the RDT210WDL can also decrease energy use by up to 36 percent.

I don’t think a monitor of that size is going to be running off USB power. It most definitely has its own power supply.

Sounds promising. But given the battery size off of a netbook, how long will one have with this plugged in.
How much power does it consume. And is it drawing all the power from the USB?
