Manage Window transparency on Mac
CrystalClear is a free Mac application that manages overall window transparency and lets you add separate transparency settings to window backgrounds and background color of “views”
It is a Cocoa InputManager, so it functions only on applications built with the Cocoa frameworks. Cocoa is one of the main tools to design Apple software nowadays but prominent holdovers are iTunes and the Finder.

It comes with a preference panel that offers numerous options that you can control. Panels are designed with the “HUD” look that’s become popular in Apple’s software lately. On the other hand the structure is in place to allow users to customize the color settings for both of these kinds of window objects.
The latest version of CrystalClear has been released the following changes
1. Animating the opening and closing of windows
2. Using “Single Application Mode” (SAM), which reduces window clutter by keeping only one application active at a time. Use the built-in application switcher (command-Tab) to switch applications.
3. For the active application, replacing its name in the system menubar with its icon.
4. Turning off shadows for inactive windows.
5. Using recessed-style popup buttons.
6. Enabling CrystalClear’s semi-transparent scrollers.
